Does God Hear Your Prayers?

Does it matter how you start a prayer? A short simple answer would be "yes", but I cannot just say that without an explanation. If you have been here before you know that I always tell you to do your own homework, research for yourself and do not take my word for anything. Not my word, or anyone else's. I am NOT trying to tell you how to pray. That is something personal between you and God. Like I always say, my blogs are just my opinions. And if just one blog can help just one person I would be so thankful! And if you are familiar with me you know I try to keep things short and to the point, which I will attempt to do this time.
How you pray DOES matter. Have you been praying to Jesus all your life? Or do you do as Jesus said to do and pray to the Father? Jesus said in Matthew 6 and Luke 11 that we are to begin our prayers with "Our Father which art in Heaven". And He tells us in John 14:6 that nobody can come to the Father but by Him. And He tells us in John 14:14 if we ask anything in His name He will do it.
Therefore the only conclusion that I can come to is, pray to the Father and ask for it in Jesus' name.
Do you ask forgiveness for your sins before you ask God for things? God will not hear your prayer if you have sin in your life so it is best to start every prayer by asking forgiveness for your sins. You should ask forgiveness for all thoughts, actions, things you did not do that you should have done. And if you are having an issue with anyone, if you are mad at someone God will not hear you until that situation is resolved. It is in the "Lord's Prayer" to forgive people of their trespasses against us and God will forgive our trespasses against Him. We are also told in  Mark 11:25 that we must forgive others so God will forgive us. Continuous willful sin (living with a boyfriend or girlfriend, your choice of music, your lifestyle....) is a different story entirely. I cannot say that being a willful sinner that your prayers are heard. There is no evidence that says your prayers will be heard, but a lot of evidence that your prayers will not be heard. But, that is another blog....
And please thank our Father for everything He has done for you. I could never ask Him for anything without first thanking Him for everything that I have. I spend so much time thanking Him for everything that I have and that He has done for me my food gets cold while I'm saying the blessing. I cannot live in a country where I am free to worship Him knowing people are tortured and killed everyday in other countries for refusing to deny Him without thanking Him every time I pray for my Bible and my freedom to read it and worship Him. I cannot ask Him for anything without first thanking Him for my family, my home, the fact that I have food to eat, a bed to sleep in... Yes, I thank Him for everything because if it were not for Him I would have nothing!
If you have not been starting your prayers with "Dear Father", "Dear God", or "Dear Lord", please start today and see what a change it makes! :)
And please tell Him you love Him. You tell your mom, dad, son, daughter... that you love them. This is your Father, your Heavenly Father, please tell Him you love Him. I know you know that He knows that you do, but He would really appreciate it if you tell Him.
Thanks for reading. Please come back soon. God Bless You :)
