Are You SURE You Are Going To Heaven

Lets look at what you must do to go to Heaven.

Believe in Jesus

Call upon the name of Jesus

Ask Jesus to come into your heart, your life
Follow His word, His teachings, His commandments

Sounds simple enough, doesnt it? We are saved by Grace thru Faith. We're saved by faith because even tho we cant see Jesus, we believe that He exists. That He is there. That His word is true.
We call upon the name of the Lord, we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, our lives and save us. But, that is not all, you have to obey His word. Just believing is not enough. That would be like, going to a job interview for a great job. Your dream job that will make your life everything you want it to be. After the interviewer tells you that you are hired you go home and call all your family and friends and tell them about the wonderful job you got. But you never show up for work. You had a great interview, got the job, but never went back there. Then come payday you show up to get your paycheck. The boss is going to look at you like you are crazy, he is going to tell you that he has no idea who you are, that you never worked for him. The same goes for God. There are so many people who believe in God, believe Jesus is the Son Of God, but never go back to them after repenting of their sins. They repent, ask Jesus into their hearts, then continue living the same life of sin.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:22-25
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the WHOLE LAW, and yet offend in ONE POINT, he is GUILTY OF ALL.

I actually know a few people who believe just because the Ten Commandments are in the Old Testament that they are no longer in effect. When I ask these people, What about what Jesus said in Matthew 5, pointing out that Jesus did not take away the Ten Commandments but He elaborated on them, expanded them, I never get an answer. Jesus even said that He did not come to change the law. Honestly, if someone believes they no longer have to abide by the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses in Exodus, then would you not think that what Jesus said in Matthew would be enough for them? People are not reading their Bibles. They are going by what they were taught when they were younger rather than getting to know the word of God for themselves. They are either too lazy to read the Bible. Complain that it just dont make sense to them. Or they simply dont want to know the truth because then they might have to give up the way they are living their life and they do not want to give up lust, fornication, gay friends, and any and all things that promote these and other sins. Whatever their reason is for not wanting to read the Bible and learn what they are to do and what they are not to do, they are the very "Christians" the Bible tells us will not be in Heaven.

Matthew 7:13-15

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

It is VERY heart breaking to me to know that I have friends and family who truly believe they are going to Heaven. But if they would only read the Bible, seriously praying for wisdom and knowledge as they read, it would all become so clear to them. I read the Bible (off and on) for over 30 years before I learned to pray, before I open my Bible, that the Lord please give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Once I started doing that, things that I had read many times over the years became so much clearer to me. If you read the Bible with blinders on, not sincerely desiring to become more knowledgeable, if you read it with skepticism because you do not want it to actually say what you know it is going to say, then you most likely will not understand it when you read it.

I urge you to PLEASE get your heart right with God. Please talk to Jesus, ask Him to lead, guide and direct you along the path that is right for you. Read the Bible with sincerity and you will find yourself not wanting to put it down. You will find that you just can not get enough of its teachings.

  1. Wow, what a strong piece and yes we should speak boldly if we really want people to come to the Lord Jesus and save their souls. I think that too few Christians really do stand up for Jesus as often as they should. Please take a look at my blog and I would love you to leave a comment. Joan.
